The second hatch I incubated fully dry with zero water added. The humidity naturally hovered around 24-28%. Of the 20 fertile eggs that went into lockdown, I again had 100% hatch of chicken eggs on day 19. This unit is hatching eggs reliably early and all the chicks are healthy!
For BOTH hatches we experienced multiple short, quick power outs. The longest was 15 minutes. Each time the incubator came back on, remembered the correct count-down day and continued turning the eggs without any issues. This is impressive since spring & summer thunderstorms tend to occur at the same time of year I want to hatch chicks and some incubators stay off after power outs. This one has proven very reliable!
It is very easy to use. Directions are straight-forward and everything is adjustable. The built-in LED candler works perfect if you place a half-sheet of black card stock with a centered, 1/2 inch hole over it to direct a thinner beam of light into the egg. Even my blue eggs are easy to see through this way! (The eggs in the picture have air cells traced which were viewed using the built in candler. I don’t own any other type of candler.)
Consider still using an extra thermometer. A second digital thermometer said my unit was running a degree too low so I increased the temp to 100.5 on the unit to achieve 99.5 degrees at egg level. (This might be why I’m regularly experiencing day 19 hatches across all breeds I incubate.)
If you want to stop the auto turner before day 18, it is easy to remove the tray and unplug the turner unit’s separate power supply. I stop turning the evening of day 13 to lessen the chance of malpositioned chicks. I also add a piece of rubbery shelf liner under the eggs after I candle on day 18, in preparation for hatching. (Simply trace the egg turner tray you removed onto the shelf liner roll and cut out!) This liner keeps the chicks stable on their feet and the eggs don’t roll around as much when bumped by siblings.
Cleaning the unit is easy. The top needs nothing more than to be carefully wiped with a paper towel lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol. Rubbing alcohol will disinfect and evaporate almost instantly, keeping all the electronic elements safe. The bottom base has grooves that are quickly cleaned with Q-tips. After draining the humidity water, I use a hair dryer to blow egg shell pieces out of the water trough crannies and clean everything with rubbing alcohol and Q-tips so it is disinfected for the next batch. My picky, full-scale cleaning is still completed in 15 minutes.
I’ve been so pleased with this incubator that I’m already saving for a second one! Before buying, I spent several weeks researching incubators and then carefully selected the Nurture Right 360. I’m so glad I did! Increasing my flock (and the neighbor’s) has been a breeze!
If you are brand new to incubating, want a no-fuss unit that is very reliable with a huge viewing window for children to observe AND wouldn’t mind chicks hatching a bit early, this is the one for you!
Update February 2021: I’m using this incubator for the third hatching season and I’m still thrilled with it! I did learn the hard way that my hatch rates plummet if the incubator is near a sunny window. It seems the UV rays through the window glass and clear incubator lid affect the eggs (even blue ones) and it dropped my hatch rates to 65%. Moved the incubator across the room and hatch rates went back to 95-100%.

I have tired the super expensive incubators, and have sold them and gone back to these.
We hatch a lot of chicks for our business and these have been the easiest to work with and have given the best rates of hatching.
I do wish, the humidity was easier to control, especially at hatching because when chicks start coming the humidity sky rockets-even with the small vent open completly-and you have to worry about chicks getting shrink wrapped in the egg...I tend to have to slightly lift the lid so often to get humidity to drop back to normal range..which is time consuming because you are stuck there for quite awhile...or having to take the risk of issues with your hatch rate.
Other than that, it's been great. Never had temp issues. Cleaning it is fairly easy, and I never had issues with chicks getting hurt by the incubator.
The clear plastic is nice because you can watch the eggs pipping and hatching easily.
I've used the foam little giant incubator before with great success. It's accurate and easy to use, especially to clean up after! We hatched 7 of 13 eggs in this incubator. This thing was messy and it was difficult to clean out all the parts and little nooks and crannies. We also have hard water which left build up. So I also had to soak it in vinegar to remove those stains. DON'T USE HARD WATER.
I wish I had spent a little more on the little giant. It holds more eggs, is easier to clean and how reliable the gauges on it were. However if you value seeing the little peepers peeping, then this one does work and you get a show!

Do not open the lid after lockdown to avoid ducklings/chicks getting shrink wrapped and dying. No option for duck egg turner plate. The eggs were bigger than the slots so had to be manually turned in the slots. Some of the ducklings got stuck to one side of the wall. Let all the ducklings/chicks hatch out for a couple of days before opening the lid to move them. Once opened make sure the rest don’t get shrink wrapped and die. I got 10 live ducklings, (9 Aylesbury and 1 Muscovy) both with different incubation times (28 for Aylesbury and the rest went into a second lockdown before the 35th day hatch out). 2 further ducklings got shrink wrapped and died. One died probably on the 20th day or so. I had to help out the Muscovy as it was getting exhausted after pecking for 3 days. The second pipped Muscovy egg did not make it. The 10th Aylesbury pipped egg did not make it either.
But satisfied with the overall product. Hatches the outer eggs as well as inner eggs in the turning plate.
